Neuropsychological Assessments

Compassionate. Competent. Clear.

At Blue River Counseling & Wellness, we understand that getting an accurate mental health diagnosis can be life-changing and life-saving. Whether you’re navigating questions about ADHD, autism, or another concern, our assessment process is designed to be thorough, affirming, and empowering.

All assessments are conducted by our Owner & Executive Director, Dr. Alyssa Botte, a trauma-informed, neurodivergent-affirming developmental psychologist who works with both children and adults. Dr. Botte brings clinical depth, warmth, and clarity to every assessment. She specializes in helping individuals and families make sense of confusing or overlapping symptoms and provides intelligible, actionable report findings.

Since we believe that psychological assessment should be both accessible and affordable, we offer flexible evaluation options designed to meet individuals where they are—financially and clinically—while still providing high-quality, meaningful results.

We offer two types of documentation based on your needs:

  • Summary Letters (1–2 pages):
Ideal for those seeking personal insight, informal validation, or a clearer way to communicate their experiences to family, friends, or current providers.

  • Full Diagnostic Reports (8–12 pages):
Comprehensive documents designed for individuals who need formal written evaluations for medication management, treatment planning, school or workplace accommodations, or access to support services

Please note: Undergoing a formal psychological assessment does not guarantee a specific diagnosis or any diagnosis at all. Our role is to offer a clinically sound and evidence-based evaluation that reflects your unique presentation and history, not to confirm a predetermined label.

Fees

While Blue River Counseling & Wellness does accept insurance, some insurance covers little to none of the cost of neuropsychological evaluations. While we can attempt to get a verification of benefits and even issue a prior authorization, there is no guarantee that insurance will cover the balance. For this reason, it is important to be aware that you would still be responsible for the remaining bill.

For self-pay clients, rates are determined on a case-by-case basis of what needs to be evaluated, which will be discussed before engaging in the testing and assessment portion of the evaluation. 50% of the balance is due before the first appointment, with the remaining 50% to be paid prior to the second appointment.

Occasionally, testing takes longer than anticipated. If additional time is needed, the cost for the additional time will be discussed with you prior to being charged. Each additional 30 minutes is billed separately at the rate of $125.
